Which day should I come?
Every Day! There is something new on each day of O-Week and the Clubs & Societies (C&S) stalls are here all week! We’re certain you won’t be able to sample it all in only one day. Perhaps you missed the Chocolate Society stall? Look - they’re over in the shade!
I’m a new student with questions about starting university life. Who can I ask?
The Student Point of Contact (SPOC) Volunteers are here to help! In bright, lime-green t-shirts, their intimate knowledge about the university universe will help you on your way. Whether you’re looking for a society, wondering what’s on or lost in your own world, they’ll guide you in the right direction. You can visit them in their O-Week stall, find them amongst the O-Week activities or email them at
.
What is the best way to meet new people at O-Week?
Get involved! The night events are a fantastic way to meet people who moon-walk just as well as you do! Exploring the clubs and societies throughout the day is also a great opportunity to meet people (new and old) with similar interests. With over 200 clubs, you’re bound to discover something and someone you love! Check out the ‘Events’ page to see what’s on throughout O-Week.
How do I join a Club or Society?
Step 1, become a member of the USU and purchase your Access Card from any of the Access tents at O-Week. To sign up to any Club or Society, find their stall on the Front Lawns or Eastern Avenue (map coming soon), and take your Access Card with you. Club membership is usually around $0 to $10, so bring along some coins. Feel free to ask the club stalls any questions you may have – they’re the ones with the knowledge and experience! Remember, you must be a USU member to join a USU Club or Society. To join online click here.
How do I become a USU member?
Joining the USU is easy! You can either join online or at O-Week. To join online, visit www.accessbenefits.com.au or to join during O-Week, sign up at one of the Access tents. By becoming a member, you recieve the Access Card, which comes with a huge range of benefits on and off campus. One-year's USU Access Membership is $110 for new students, $99 for existing students and staff and $90 for renewing members. Plus there are options for degree cards, where you save even more. Click here for more information.
I'm starving! Where can I get some food?
There are plenty of places to grab some tasty food at O-week. This includes the many USU catering outlets along Eastern Avenue, the Carnival Food Van located on the Front Lawns and the several food outlets located at Manning, Wentworth and Holme Buildings. Dig in! More info. Also, don’t forget for the first 1000 Access Card holders, there is a free breakfast every morning, so don’t miss out!
