What is O-Week?
This is the Orientation week for all Sydney University students, offering the opportunity to see what happens outside the lecture theatre. The Clubs & Societies, run by the University of Sydney Union (USU), are all on show, so you can investigate what’s on offer, and join as many societies as possible, including all the musical, cultural, and food related clubs you could imagine, plus many more. There are also parties each night located at the University’s social hotspots, like Manning and Hermann’s. If you want to make the most out of your time at Uni, then head along to O-Week to get a sneak peak of what the Union has in store for 2012!

Which day should I come?
There are three days packed full of fun and games at O-Week, which will keep you coming back each day. The Clubs & Societies (C&S) stalls are running every day, but there will be live music and performances to keep you entertained all day long. It’s worth coming back each day, who knows what you might miss the first time around!

I’m a new student with questions about starting university life. Who can I ask?
The Student Volunteers are here to help! In bright t-shirts, their intimate knowledge about the university will help you on your way. Whether you’re looking for a society, wondering what’s on or lost around campus, ask a volunteer and they’ll help guide you in the right direction. You can visit them at their O-Week stall, find them at the O-Week festivities, or email them at .

What is the best way to meet new people at O-Week?
It’s super easy! The best place to start is at the C&S stalls, where you can chat to the friendly club members and ask them about what they enjoy about what their club does throughout the year. You can also meet new and old students with similar interests such as photography, cocktails, languages, sport, or even Mr Darcy. There are also events running day and night, where you are sure to make some new friends, so check out the ‘Events’ page to see what’s on throughout O-Week.

How do I join a Club or Society?
After buying your Access Card you can wander through the C&S stalls at O-Week and have a chat with the friendly club members about what their group has to offer. Don’t forget to bring your Access Card, as you need this to sign up, and club membership is usually around $0 to $10, so bring along some coins. You can meet some great people through these clubs, so go crazy, and join as many as you can!

I'm starving! Where can I get some food?
Awesome question. The University has a number of coffee carts along Eastern Avenue (where you can redeem the free coffee from your Member Bag) and food courts in Manning, Holme and Wentworth Buildings. There will be plenty of treats available on campus, and a host of food stalls will be serving up delectable delights near the Big Top. To find out more, click here.
