Question: If Yes If No
I can make friends easily.
Excellent! Uni is a fantastic place to make new friends, no matter who you are. Join some USU Clubs, hang out at Manning Bar or Hermann’s, and watch those friends accumulate!

Not to worry! Uni is a fantastic place to make new friends no matter who you are. Join some USU Clubs, hang out at Manning Bar or Hermann’s, and watch those friends accumulate!

I can concentrate for long periods of time.
Now now, don’t lie. Procrastination affects 99% of students today, and there is only one treatment proven to be successful (besides electroshock therapy), please see ‘No’.

Head to Manning Coffee Cart, grab a hot beverage, find a table outside and switch that studying brain on.

I am a confident public speaker.
Offer to lecture bash for student politicians during elections. May the free t-shirts you accumulate compensate for the fact that no one will be listening anyway!

Oral presentations are a part of uni, but don’t fret. There is a famous statistic that more people are afraid of public speaking than they are of death. So, remember, you’re in the same boat as most people. Just imagine everyone is in their underwear…and try not to laugh.

I get lost easily.
Campus is pretty big and overwhelming at first, but over time, you’ll learn your way around with ease. In the meantime, don’t be afraid to ask for directions. And remember, all roads lead to Manning Bar.

That will come in handy at uni, and will probably mean you will not walk into a pole because you are too busy looking at a map.

I am opinionated.
You’re in the right place! The University of Sydney is renowned for its history of critical thinkers. There are plenty of Clubs and Societies to join where you can share views with others. Better yet, join the USU debating team, it’s ranked number one in the world! (see!). And if thats not enough, you can get involved in a number of ways in the USU, you can even aim for President!

A wise man once said: opinions are like buttocks. We all have them; just not everyone’s willing to show them off. Uni is all about the exchange and expression of opinions – no matter what subject you study, so don’t be scared to present your opinion. (Your view that is, not your buttocks).

I get bored quite easily.
There are so many things to do during your time at Uni, you’ll never get bored. There are always fun events being held by Clubs and Societies, parties, gigs and entertainment at Manning Bar and Hermann’s Bar, the famous Revues, and a heap of competitions all year round.

That’s good, but don’t miss out on all the great things on offer.

I can budget effectively. Enrol yourself in an Accounting degree immediately!

Invest in an Access Card and take advantage of all the savings. You’ll save precious money both on and off campus, on a heap of different things. Food, clothes, books, drinks, gig tickets, even skydiving! Wheeeee!

I can’t read, I can’t stand being around people and fun stinks. Sounds like you’re having more than just technical difficulties. University is definitely not for you!

You’re gonna love life at The University of Sydney!
