Wil Anderson & Josh Thomas
+ Axis of Awesome
+ Project 52
With a stellar comedic line-up including Wil Anderson, Josh Thomas, Axis of Awesome and Sydney University’s own comedy act, Project 52, we'll have you laughing all the way into week 4!
Wil is a stand up first and foremost, touring Australia and the world at every opportunity, performing more than a hundred shows a year. His stand up is a densely written, high-speed ride though one of the most wonderful comedic imaginations in the country. Politics, pop and the banal come together in a Wil Anderson routine, always delivered with more conviction and enthusiasm than any man’s vocal chords can take.
Previously host of ABC-TVs AFI Award winning program, The Glass House, Wil returns to TV once again in 2009, with the second season to the ABC runaway hit, The Gruen Transfer. The show proved to be such a success in its initial year in 2008, that the series was released straight onto DVD.
In amongst the TV hosting, and constant touring, Wil writes a highly popular regular column for Australia’s most highly read magazine, The Sunday Magazine,His first book, ‘Survival Of The Dumbest’ [Random House] is still on the bestseller list.
In December 2008, Wil took his craft to the UK, where he performed at the Riverside Studio for 2 weeks, in which he garnered rave reviews.
Wil hits the road once again in 2009 with his exciting show, Wilosophy.

The Stage, Edinburgh
“What a funny Aussie. Wil Anderson’s fast-paced routine is bursting with laughs and energy…there is enough material here to fill two hours making the one he has sprint by…a higher laugh-per-minute rate than anyone I have seen before… ‘Ando’ is a comic gem”
Three Weeks, Edinburgh
“If you ever have the chance, go and see Wil Anderson live. I could have sat there all night if laughing so hard didn’t hurt so much...”

Josh is a funny stand-up.
At the age of just 17 Josh Thomas was the youngest ever winner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s RAW Comedy Competition in 2005. He also made the finals of So You Think You’re Funny, Edinburgh’s equivalent to RAW Comedy. He thought he was the King of the world. His next gig was in a scary you-might-actually-die-when-they-stab-you style Tavern in front of 12 comics and a man sitting at the bar crying into his beer.
Josh has performed solo seasons at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival as well as the invitation only festivals Smithwicks Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland and the Geel Comedy Festival in Belgium. He is also the curator of the Brisbane Comedy Festival.
Josh is a regular favourite on Network Ten’s Good News Week and The 7PM Project, has performed stand up on Rove and is the Generation Y Team Captain on Network Ten’s Talkin’ ‘bout Your Generation. Also he was on 'Celebrity Masterchef' but his Italian Meringue didn't work.
In 2007 Josh, picked up the gong for the Melbourne Airport Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, for his first ever solo show, Please Like Me. This was followed by 6 weeks touring with the Comedy Festival Roadshow and an invitation to perform at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal in July.
“... the comedy festival’s most junior player is also one of it’s best… fiercely funny” The Age
“Energetic and original with a quirky sense of timing … Josh left the audience in tatters” The Courier Mail
“The future of Australian comedy” Time Off Magazine
“The most successful is Josh Thomas… he’s a standout” The Pun
